Have you ever noticed how a cluttered space might affect your mind, your focus, or your overwhelm? How about your physical health?
Today I sat down with Sherry Steine to talk about Feng Shui, how it actually is yoga for your home and how our wellbeing is affected by our environment. Sherry is a Certified Feng Shui Consultant and a Yoga Teacher. She uses Yin, Restorative and Trauma-Informed Yoga combined with knowledge as a Feng Shui, interior design, essential oil, and Reiki to help people improve their holistic wellness.
She is also a podcaster herself for the Aligned Expressions podcast and the Author of two Books, Feel Good Spaces: A Guide to Decorating Your Home for the Body, Mind, and Spirit and Landing on Your Feet and Putting Down Roots: 21 Rituals to Transform Your Life and Interior Space.

MY 5 BIGGEST TAKEAWAYS FROM THIS EPISODE
1- Feng Shui is about the circulation of energy (Qi) in your space, the balance between yin and yang to bring harmony and auspicious energy. Qi (or prana) from our space transmits energy and patterns to our bodies. It can also send energy back to our bigger space (neighborhood and communities, the universe)
2- The circle of energy is like the cycle of life. Our inner energy is constantly connected with outer energy and vice versa. Blockages created imbalances. We are creatures of our environment.
3- Stress and anxiety in your body might come from the clutter in your space, a chaotic visual environment, a cold and uninviting bedroom, a disorganized kitchen, unfished projects everywhere, bad lighting, too much TV energy.
4- For your yoga space: As a teacher stand where you are in a command position, meaning you have full command of the room, where you can see who’s coming in the space and leaving the space, mats are spaced out without creating blockages. In your yoga space, use plants, pleasant sounds, bright colors, crystals, supportive smells, flexible lighting, balance the 5 elements in the space, to optimize the flow of energy.
5- The 5 cardinal points of Feng Shui: decluttering, zen spaces, surround yourself with things you love, get rid of everything that doesn’t bring you joy, create a sacred space.
